Dune plantings help mitigate wind and water erosion. This garden, near the shoreline, offers beautiful examples of native plants that can grow in sand and are tolerant of salt air and salt water. The garden is located at the North end of 27th Bay Street, in East Beach.

This is an educational, commemorative, and aesthetic area where visitors can learn about native plants, resource conservation, and sustainable gardening practices.  The garden is located just outside the Ernie Morgan Center in Lafayette Park, 3500-A Granby Street just outside the Virginia Zoo.
