April 27 at the VCE office started off as a day like many others, with the occasional Norfolk Master Gardener dropping in to make copies of handouts or to pick up a sign or tablecloth. So our own Unit Administrative Professional (frequently referred to as UAP) LaShaunda Enoch seemed to think nothing of it when several NMGs converged on the office in late morning. LaShaunda was recently back from a week-long VCE training session in Harrisonburg, where she learned about “Everything!” but mostly the ins and outs of VCE financial reporting.

On this day, Will Redfern kept her busy pushing out multiple printouts for the upcoming Believe in Learning educational outreach events organized with the City of Norfolk. (Stay tuned for more on Norfolk Master Gardener participation in these shortly after Believe in Learning Week, May 7-14.) Barb Wilson arrived at the office loaded down with an assortment of items to drop off. Among those was a vase of cheerful Gerbera Daisies that she and Kim Swecker managed to smuggle past LaShaunda’s desk.

At last, all was ready. Turns out that a delegation from the Steering Committee was on hand to present LaShaunda with the floral tribute as well as a gift card to Panera and a card signed on behalf of all the Norfolk Master Gardeners. Thank you, LaShaunda, for all you do to support NMGs and our many projects!
